Statements of Faith

-
Freedom Fellowship has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 12:2; Acts 10:38; Romans 8:29
-
We believe the only true basis of Christian Fellowship is Christ’s Agape love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians. John 13:34; Mark 12:31; Galatians 5:14; James 2:8; Luke 10:27
-
We believe worship of God should be spiritual. Therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship. John 4:24; Philippians 3:3; Psalm 66:4
-
We believe worship of God should be inspirational. Therefore, we give great place to music in our worship.
Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16; 2nd Chronicles 7:6; Psalm 92:4 -
We believe worship of God should be intelligent and through the
teaching of His Word He will teach us how to worship.
Luke 12:12; John 14:26 -
We believe worship of God should be fruitful.Therefore, we look for His love in our lives as a supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshiping Him. 1st Thessalonians 5:15; 1st John 4: 7 -12;
Galatians 5:22; Ephesians 4:34; John 21:12 -
We believe in the inerrancy of the scripture, that the Bible, old and new testaments, are the inspired, infallible word of God.
2nd Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; 2nd Peter 1:20 -
We believe in the Trinity; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19; 2nd Corinthians 13:14; 1st John 5:7 -
We believe that God is a personal, transcendent, and sovereign creator of all things. John 1:1-3; Psalm 27; Isaiah 55; Ephesians 3:9
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human; that He was born of a virgin; lived a sinless life; provided for the atonement of our sins by His substitutionary death on the cross; that His body was raised from the dead, ascended back to the right hand of the Father, and lives to make intercession for us. 1st Timothy 3:16; John 1:1; Romans 8:27, 34
-
We believe that all people are, by nature, separated from God and responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
When a person repents of their sin and accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior trusting Him to save them, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit. All of their sins are forgiven and they become a child of God destined to spend eternity with the Lord. John 14:6; John 3:16 -
We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in the scriptures, and that they are valid for today if they are exercised within the scriptural guidelines. Although there are numerous gifts, we believe the most important gift is the gift of love and without love the exercising of all spiritual gifts is to no avail. 1st Corinthians 13:1-3
-
We believe the Bible is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. Ultimate appeal is always to the scriptures, not to any confession of faith, creed, or views commonly accepted. Matthew 24:35
-
We believe that church membership is that of Regenerate persons exclusively, those who have given clear evidence of their Christian faith and experience. Exercising the strictest caution in taking in members to ensure the spiritual life of the church. Membership confers upon each member equal rights and privileges to determine the affairs of the church. Titus 3:5; 1st Corinthians 6:11
-
We believe the Priesthood of all believers is cherished by all true-believing members. Every Christian without exception is a Believer-Priest, and each individual has immediate access to God. No other person, rite, ceremony, or custom stands between the believer and his or her direct communication with Christ. There has only been one human mediator, and He is the Lord Jesus Christ. 1st Peter 2:9
-
We believe that individual soul liberty is leaving Christian religion free to everyone’s conscience and that people are free to study the Bible for themselves and interpret scripture as the Holy Spirit enlightens. 1st Peter 2:9
-
We believe in the separation of Church and State. The Church must be free to be Christ’s Church, without outside interference. No denominational state with state funded church where no citizen would have to comply to, and financially support, a denominational view.
Luke 20:25; 2nd Timothy 2:3-4 -
We believe in the autonomy of the local church, governed by the people. The church is a sovereign unit, responsible to no one except Christ. The church recognizes only congregational government. The members alone decide what is best for their church. Acts 6:1-4
-
We believe that Pastors, Elders, and Deacons are the only officers prescribed by scriptures. They each have special responsibilities, which only they can discharge. They do not have a priestly, unique status. Ministry and performance is to be scriptural. Each church calls or appoints all in a manner satisfactory to the congregation.
Titus 1:5-9; Acts 6:1-6; 1st Timothy 3:1-13 -
We believe that the only ordinances are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is by immersion of believers only. The Lord’s Supper is regarded as a service of remembrance only of Him and His sacrifice for us. We eagerly anticipate the day when we partake of the Lord’s Supper with Him in person.
Colossians 2:22; 1st Corinthians 11:23-26; Matthew 26:29
